Weekly Friday runs for people who work in tech or are looking to. Engineers, founders, designers, and people breaking into the industry. We run the waterfront, then grab beers.

Weekly runs for people who work in tech or want to. SF Tech Run is San Francisco's only running community built around the tech industry. Every Friday we run the waterfront together, then grab beers at a local pub.
Whether you're an engineer, designer, founder, PM, or just someone interested in tech, you're welcome. All paces, all backgrounds. Show up, run, and meet people who are building interesting things.
Companies actively looking for talent join our runs regularly. It's a chance to meet hiring teams in a real setting. No career fairs, no booth lines. Just conversations over miles and pints.
Ferry Building → Embarcadero waterfront towards Dogpatch & back.
After every run, we head to a local pub for beers, tech talk, and good company.
Once a month, a partner company co-hosts the Friday run. Meet the team, hear their story, and chat at the pub after.
Same route every week. Down the Embarcadero towards Dogpatch and back. Flat, fast, waterfront the whole way.
We start at the Ferry Building every Friday at 6 PM and head south along the waterfront towards Dogpatch. The route hugs the bay the entire way. Most people run the standard out and back, but if you're feeling good you can always tack on extra distance at the turnaround. All paces welcome. We regroup at the Ferry Building and walk to the pub together.
Every month, a company sponsors a Friday run and sticks around at the pub after. They'll talk about what they're building, what roles they're hiring for, and answer questions over a beer.
THIS WEEK
I moved to San Francisco to build Phonely, and we went through Y Combinator. During YC, I started a run club with some of the other founders. It quickly became the highlight of my week. There's something about running that strips away all the startup noise and lets you just have honest conversations about what you're working on, what's hard, and what's exciting.
As we scaled past our Series A, things got busier and I started missing those runs. I realized they were the best way I had to decompress and stay connected to the people and ideas I cared about. That's why I started SF Tech Run, to recreate that for the broader SF tech community.
Yes, 100% free. No membership fees, no hidden costs. Just show up and run. We're supported by partner companies who value the community.
Absolutely. We have multiple pace groups for every run. Whether you're running 7-minute miles or walking intervals, there's a group for you. Nobody gets left behind.
Not at all. While many of our members work in tech, anyone is welcome. Teachers, artists, students, retirees. If you like running and good conversation, you're in.
Once a month, a partner company co-hosts a run. They bring along team members, share what they're building, and hang out at the pub after.
If your company wants to sponsor a run or join as a partner, reach out at bon@phonely.ai. We'll set up a spotlight run and connect you with the community.
Join our email list and we'll send you the exact meeting point, route map, and pub location each week. We meet at the Ferry Building clock tower every Friday at 6 PM. Just look for the SF Tech Run banner.
We run rain or shine. This is San Francisco, not San Diego. That said, we'll cancel for truly unsafe conditions (lightning, extreme winds). If the run's off, we still hit the pub. Check your email or our socials for any last-minute changes.
